  7.     Amiga NetHack 3.1.3 is the third patchlevel of NetHack 3.1.
  8.     Saved games and bones files from previous versions (including
  9.     previous patch levels of 3.1) will NOT work with this release.

  13.     NetHack is created by the NetHack Development Team and ported to
  14.     the Amiga by the Amiga NetHack Team.  Please report bugs, problems,
  15.     and suggestions to nethack-bugs@linc.cis.upenn.edu.  Please note
  16.     that you are using the Amiga version.

  18. DESCRIPTION
  19.  
  20.     NetHack 3.1 is a new generation of the dungeon exploration game
  21.     NetHack.  It is a distant descendent of Hack, and a direct
  22.     descendent of NetHack 3.0.  It is the product of two years of
  23.     very intensive effort by the NetHack Development Team and its
  24.     porting sub-teams.  Many parts of 3.0 were rewritten for
  25.     NetHack 3.1, and many new features were added.

  27.     We dedicate the game to the many players of 3.0, with special
  28.     note of those who communicated with us and contributed their
  29.     ideas to the development of this new version.

  31. NEW FEATURES
  32.  
  33.     NetHack 3.1.3 is primarily a bug-fix update.  Other improvements
  34.     are left for you to discover.

  36. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  37.  
  38.     NetHack runs on any Amiga with at least 2 meg of RAM and AmigaDOS
  39.     1.3 or 2.04 (or later).  NetHack will run from floppy but a hard
  40.     disk is strongly recommended - NetHack requires approximately 3
  41.     meg of hard disk space.  The official binaries are packed with
  42.     the lz archiver, version 1.92.

  44. FTP INFORMATION
  45.  
  46.     The official binaries are available in two .lzh files on aminet.
  47.     The files are NH31P3-1.lzh and NH31P3-2.lzh.  (I don't know
  48.     where on aminet the files will be placed.)

  50.     In addition, the same files are available on linc.cis.upenn.edu
  51.     (please limit transfers from linc to non-business hours, East
  52.     Coast USA time).  The files on linc are in pub/NH3.1/binaries/amiga.
  53.     Full source code for all versions of NetHack (Amiga, Unix, MS-DOS,
  54.     Macintosh, OS/2, VMS, NT, Atari) is available in pub/NH3.1/source.

  57.     The official binaries for Amiga NetHack come in two .lzh
  58.     files.  Extract the installation instructions from the first
  59.     archive (probably called NH31P3-1.lzh) with the following
  60.     command:
  61.       lz x NH31P3-1.lzh NetHack/ReadMe
  62.     and follow the directions.  Note that the ReadMe file will be
  63.     in a NetHack subdirectory.

  65.     We have been informed that the default stack is not big enough
  66.     to unpack the archives with some archivers - if you have
  67.     trouble unpacking the archives try increasing your stack to
  68.     40000.
